Whānau Ora

We help vulnerable whānau move from a state of dependency into independent, resilient and determined contributors in our community. Are you ready to begin your journey with us?

MUMA provides wrap-around services for whānau who find themselves in a situation where they need support. Our support ranges from access to services for drug and alcohol addiction to homelessness, education and building financial capacity. We can be your voice and advocate on your behalf, helping you through the justice system if needed, or just helping you to get back on your feet.

Our qualified kaimahi (social workers) are empathetic, skilled and experienced. Each one is passionate about providing quality services to those in need. Some have been where you are, so we understand how devasting financial hardship or other issues are for whānau.

Your whānau, your way

Whānau Ora is about supporting the wellbeing of whānau, from the youngest and most vulnerable members to the oldest. It’s about making your own decisions as whānau, and finding the path forward that best suits your unique circumstances.

At MUMA, we focus on the entire whānau rather than on individuals, helping you with strategies to make life better and sort many of the normal, everyday problems we all experience from time to time.

This can range from accessing help to get into employment, help with budgets or food parcels, or getting the tamariki sorted for school. We are also able to access support for those challenges that need specialist advice and support, such as family violence or helping family members reintegrate into the community.

Every whānau needs are different. Our network of support partners is wide, and we are all here to help your whānau get back on track, in your own way and at your own pace.
