How do I get a food parcel from the MUMA Food Bank?

If you or your whānau are in need of kai support, you can request a food parcel by:

Calling our team on 0800 866 862, or

Visiting us at 31 Calthorp Close, Favona, Māngere, Monday to Friday between 9am and 3pm.

We’ll ask a few questions to understand your needs and can usually have a parcel ready that same day. Please bring ID if you have it — and know that there’s no shame in asking for help. That’s what we’re here for.

What services does MUMA offer?

MUMA supports whānau across a wide range of kaupapa including:

·      Whānau Ora navigation and wraparound support

·      Employment and training for rangatahi and adults

·      Youth development and mentoring

·      Addictions and recovery support

·      ACC advocacy with our trusted "ACC Aunties"

·      Housing support and tenancy advocacy

·      Community health programmes

·      Cultural and spiritual services based at Ngā Whare Waatea Marae

Do I have to be Māori to access MUMA’s services?

No. MUMA is an urban Māori authority grounded in kaupapa Māori values, but our services are available to all whānau, regardless of ethnicity, background or status. Everyone is welcome here.

Can someone help me with my ACC claim?

Yes! Our ACC Navigator can help with:

·      Starting a claim

·      Understanding what you're eligible for

·      Accessing physio, counselling, or home help

·      Support with income while you're off work

How do I get help with finding work or training?

Our employment and training team can support you with:

·      CV writing and interview prep

·      Job matching and employer introductions

·      Training opportunities and further study

·      Confidence-building and motivation

We offer tailored programmes for youth (He Poutama Rangatahi), adults returning to work, and people looking to upskill. Contact us to get started.

Can I book the marae or community spaces for an event?

Sadly we are unable to provide accommodation at Ngā Whare Waatea Marae, but we maybe able to help with hosting hui. To enquire:

We’re based at:

Opening hours:
Monday to Friday: 9am – 5pm
(Closed weekends and public holidays unless by arrangement)

How do I sign up for the MUMA Driving School?

MUMA’s Driving School helps whānau get their learner, restricted or full driver’s licence — whether you’re just starting out or need a bit of confidence behind the wheel.

We offer:

·      Learner licence theory workshops

·      Driving lessons with qualified instructors

·      Defensive driving courses

·      Help with test bookings and costs (where eligible)
